Google recently sent a message with the subject line, “Important: Product changes are coming to existing implementations of consent mode in 2024” to all Google Analytics account holders, including many Open Berkeley site owners who use Google Analytics to measure site traffic. If you received this message, you do not need to do anything on your Open Berkeley site in response to this email.

Release 1.7.0 of Open Berkeley deprecates the Twitter widget and improves the accessibility of the WYSIWYG editing toolbar.

September 21, 2023

Due to ongoing issues with the Twitter/X product, we will be deprecating the Twitter widget in the next release of Open Berkeley, which is planned for mid-October.

Release 1.6.5 of Open Berkeley contains bug fixes. There are no new features in this release.

Release 1.6.4 of Open Berkeley contains bug fixes, accessibility improvements, and minor code updates. There are no new features in this release.

Some Open Berkeley customers may have received unsolicited emails with incorrect information from third-party vendors. These messages may state that Drupal 7’s end of life is earlier than it actually is, or that your site may stop functioning, or that your site should use a different content management system.

As you may have seen in various news reports, Twitter has been having issues since the weekend, and Down Detector is still showing ongoing issues reported by many.

Twitter has applied rate limits to logged-in users (limiting the number of tweets they can view per day), and has also prevented anyone not logged into a Twitter account from viewing any tweets.
