Release 1.9.0 of Open Berkeley contains new and updated features, accessibility improvements, bug fixes, and minor code updates.
New UC Berkeley wordmark
As outlined in the pre-release announcement, the Office of Communications and Public Affairs has released updates to the UC Berkeley branding materials. One of these updates to the Brand is a change to the UC Berkeley wordmark.
The new wordmark is now in place on all Open Berkeley sites along with the structural changes outlined in the pre-release announcement.
Siteimprove updates
Priority script now enabled on all sites
The Siteimprove priority script is now enabled on all sites. Previously, it was only available as part of our alpha Search Engine Optimization feature. The script can help you prioritize fixes to your site based on page visit analytics. It collects very simple metrics that can show you the relative numbers of visits to different pages and the number of times a PDF was downloaded. See our Siteimprove integration page and the Digital Accessibility Program site for more information.
New Berkeley instance
The Digital Accessibility Program is launching a new Berkeley instance of Siteimprove effective October 14. See their Siteimprove transition FAQs for more information. Siteimprove priority script metrics (see previous item) for your Open Berkeley sites will be collected on the new instance, not the existing systemwide instance.
