Google Consent Mode - no action required by Open Berkeley customers

February 9, 2024

Google recently sent a message with the subject line, “Important: Product changes are coming to existing implementations of consent mode in 2024” to all Google Analytics account holders, including many Open Berkeley site owners who use Google Analytics to measure site traffic.

If you received this message, you do not need to do anything on your Open Berkeley site in response to this email. Our platform controls all Google Analytics consent mode settings for your site. We will be updating these settings in an upcoming platform release.

However, if you are using Google Analytics beyond your Open Berkeley site, you will need to review the changes and implement them in your Google Analytics account, in accordance with campus privacy policies.

If you have additional questions about managing Google Analytics on your Open Berkeley site, you can review our page on Managing Google Analytics Properties, or email us directly.
