All Open Berkeley sites are now using HTTPS. This upgrade should result in the following improvements:
- Better security for your users
- Avoiding browser warnings
- Improved performance for better SEO and user engagement
Browsers such as Google Chrome and Firefox have begun labeling sites as "non-secure" if they are not using the HTTPS protocol, with plans to increase these warnings in gradual steps.
This update addresses this issue. Visitors to your website will automatically be redirected to the HTTPS URL for your site. Moving forward, when you include a URL for your website in any communications, you should use the HTTPS version (example: https://open.berkeley.edu). If you forget, your visitors will still be redirected to the correct HTTPS URL.
