Version 0.8

April 11, 2016

These notes detail only changes since the previous release. For information about features released before this version, see our documentation in the Site Builders Guide.

Updated Features

The 0.8 version of Open Berkeley contains features updates and code updates. NOTE: Some updated features are only available to sites that are using the new Berkeley Brand theme. If you have an Open Berkeley site using the old theme and would like to upgrade to the new theme, please email web-platform@berkeley.edu.

This page also includes bug fixes released in version 0.8.1.

Berkeley Brand Components

For sites using the Berkeley Brand theme, we have updated the Photo Thumbnail widget. You can now choose any Brand color for the bottom highlight stripe.

This enhancement was sponsored by Human Resources (Open Berkeley site forthcoming).

Spotlight Widget

There are now three Spotlight styles available: Full height, Half height, and Quarter height. These styles support the wider content area of the "Header" and "Content" regions of the available layout options. The original Legacy style (full height, but not as wide) is still available; if you are currently using a Spotlight in a region wider than 960px ("Header" and "Content" regions), we recommend switching to one of the new styles (such as "Full Height").

This enhancement was sponsored by the College of Letters & Science.

Content Update Notes

Public Affairs has changed the official name of the campus news site to Berkeley News (previously NewsCenter). The URL has also changed; it is now http://news.berkeley.edu. If you have a link to this site, whether in a footer block or in your content, we recommend that you change the link text and URL to reflect the new name.
